SIM Swap Scams refers to a type of cyber crime where a fraudster takes your mobile number in his SIM without your knowledge. Subsequently, the fraudster gains control of your bank, UPI, and social media accounts.

English:
A SIM Swap Scams happens when fraudsters illegally get a duplicate SIM card of the victim’s mobile number. Once the scammer’s phone has the activated SIM, the victim will not be able to use the network, meanwhile, the fraudster will receive all the OTPs, calls, and messages.
In this way, the scammers are able to reset the bank passwords, open bank accounts through UPI, get control over social media accounts and steal money. Usually, the victim comes to know about the network fraud only when the mobile displays “No Network” for a long time.
