English:
In this type of fraudulent Cyber Crime officer Scams, the criminals pose as representatives of Cyber Crime, the CBI, or the ED.
They first contact the potential victims by calling through the phone, using WhatsApp, or sending emails. Then they inform the victim that their phone number, bank account, or IP address has been connected with various illegal activities such asdrug trafficking, money laundering, or online fraud.
Furthermore, the scammers threaten to arrest the victims, to block their accounts, or send them the legal notice, meanwhile, they ask the victims to pay the fine, share the OTPs or send the money for the ‘verification’ procedure.
